CDROM: UCB

Allergy Leaflets CDROM for UCB
The Challenge
In partnership with Aurora Communications, Tangent 90 were asked to develop a CDROM to act as a repository for all patient
focused allergy leaflets. One of the key requirements was to ensure the CDROM could be navigated in 5 languages but
distribute leaflets in 16 languages, enabling medical professionals to provide their patients with allergy information in
their local language. The overall aim of the project was not only to improve the distribution of key allergy information
but to reduce the time spent by doctors in issuing relevant material.
The Strategy
One of the key recommendations for the development of the CDROM was to ensure the interface was easy to use and provided in
the languages required for the target audience. Tangent 90 proposed a language selection screen for the navigation of the
CDROM, followed by and introductory page then a screen to select which of the 16 languages the leaflets needed to be printed
in. Another key recommendation made by Tangent 90 was to ensure the platform would be compatible with older PC’s running
Windows 98 due to the possibility of different IT systems across Europe.
The Result
An easy to use CDROM that has improved the distribution of patient focused allergy information that healthcare professionals
can navigate in 5 languages, allowing patients to receive leaflets in 16 languages with broad compatibility across computer
networks.
